The Governor of Ugra Natalia Komarova has declared a stable environment in Surgut after the attack the offender at the passers-by in the city centre. Her words are on the website of the regional government.
Komarov arrived in the city, where he held a meeting together with representatives of law enforcement agencies and the health care system. She noted that all responsible agencies work in emergency situations smoothly and efficiently.
On the morning of Saturday, August 19, armed with a knife man attacked passers-by in the city centre. The culprit was a local resident born in 1994, presumably a native of Central Asia Mobicel Abdurakhmanov.
Seven of the injured were taken to the Surgut trauma hospital, children among them. Four people are in serious condition.
Banned terrorist group “Islamic state” has claimed responsibility for the incident. The police considers the incident as a terrorist attack.
