Britain will propose to the EU to conclude an agreement on a temporary customs Union, which should come into force after Brexit. About it reports Reuters.
According to the plan of the British government, such an agreement will allow to avoid negative consequences for business and will reduce the problems associated with the change in tax regime between the EU and the United Kingdom. The customs Union will be temporary and expire until between London and Brussels will not be signed permanent economic agreement. Presumably it will last until 2022, when Britain will hold parliamentary elections.
Brussels has already stated that it would closely examine the proposal, but said that insisting on a speedy withdrawal of Britain from the Union.
The decision to withdraw Britain from the European Union was adopted by referendum on 23 June 2016. The rejection of EU membership was supported by more than half of voters. March 28 2017 the Prime Minister Theresa may has signed a letter notifying EU authorities of the formal start of procedure Brexit. Negotiations on the conditions will take two years.
Some EU politicians believe that London have to pay the EU compensation for the abandonment of the common market. Is the sum of 100 billion euros. But in the UK say that is not going to pay, and if negotiations about the conditions of release will come to a standstill, then London is ready to implement without Brexit negotiations with Brussels.
