The first Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on defense and security Frants Klintsevich on his page in Facebook called yet another provocation by words of the head of the Polish foreign Minister Witold Waszczykowski about the responsibility of Russia for the outbreak of the Second world war and called on leading Western countries to influence the Polish government, as the patience of Russia is not unlimited.
Waszczykowski said earlier that the Soviet Union together with Germany is responsible for starting the Second world war.
According to the Russian Senator, the statement of the head of the Polish foreign Ministry has the history of only indirect relevance. In his opinion, the Polish side is the promotion of nationalist, Russophobic policy.
“Poland, imagines himself as a spearhead against Russia, an Outpost of NATO in Europe, literally off my back,” wrote Klintsevich. He believes that the actions of Poland — “a direct result of the thoughtless expansion of NATO to the East, produced including and excluding the mentality of the peoples living there”.
“Provocations follow one another. Personally, I have no faith that in this country, struck at the roots of the virus of nationalism, may in the foreseeable future to prevail some reasonable line against Russia, and therefore turn to the leading politicians of the West: kalonice the Polish leadership. Our patience is not unlimited,” wrote Klintsevich.
The President of Poland Andrzej Duda in mid-July signed amendments to the law on prohibition of propaganda of communism, which include the demolition of Soviet monuments in the country. The law shall enter into force three months from the date of signing. According to estimates of the Institute of national remembrance of Poland, responsible for the memorial work, a law on de-communization will affect about 230 monuments of the red army. The Russian foreign Ministry said that the signing of the Polish President of the law permitting the demolition of Soviet monuments, is a flagrant provocation, which will not remain without consequences.
