In Japan died actor, who played the role of Godzilla
TOKYO, 8 Aug. /TASS/. Japanese actor Haruo Nakajima, best known for playing Godzilla one of the most popular monsters in film history — has died at the age of 88 from pneumonia. On Tuesday said the Agency Kyodo.
Nakajima was born in 1929 in Yamagata Prefecture. Since the mid 50-ies of the last century to 1972, he was under contract with Japanese Studio Toho has acted in more than 10 paintings about a giant lizard, for which even received a playful nickname “Mr. Godzilla”.
The main distinguishing feature of Japanese films about Godzilla is the fact that the monster was created without the aid of computer graphics — played by a real actor in a special suit.

In 2010, Nakajima wrote a memoir called “My life as that monster”, telling in detail about all the difficulties faced during filming, because only the suit itself weighed nearly 40 kg. the Process of creating each new movie actor turned around to multiple injuries.
