The media learned about the forthcoming resignation of a member of the UN Commission on human rights in Syria
Carla del Ponte, said that the Commission for five years, has not achieved any results.
Moscow. 7 Aug. INTERFAX.RU — Carla del Ponte, member of Independent international Commission to investigate human rights violations in Syria wrote a letter of resignation, which intends to transfer in the coming days. This she told the Swiss magazine Blick.
His decision to resign is motivated by the inaction of the Commission, a complete lack of results.

Carla del Ponte said, “I can no longer be a member of the Commission, which just doesn’t do anything,” and noted that “countries in the UN security Council do not want justice.”
Del Ponte has previously held the positions of Prosecutor of UN International Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia and the Tribunal for Rwanda.
“Believe me, there are crimes committed in Syria, I haven’t seen either in Rwanda or in former Yugoslavia. We thought that the international community learned a lesson from the events in Rwanda, but no, it’s not learned anything,” said the lawyer.
According to her, at first it was thought that “the opposition in Syria is good and government is bad.” However, after six years of the Commission on Syria, which was formed in 2013, it turned out that in Syria there is no “good”, said Carla del Ponte.
“In Syria, all bad. The Assad government (Syria’s President Bashar al-Assad — if) committing horrific crimes against humanity, to use chemical weapons. But the opposition consists entirely of extremists and terrorists,” she said.
