The Plenipotentiary of the President of Russia in southern Federal district Vladimir Ustinov wrote to the Minister of natural resources Sergey Donskoy letter, in which he stated that he considered the appointment of Daria Filippova Director of the Sochi national Park (SNP) is inappropriate. According to Ustinova, the conclusion he arrived at in the course of exploring her candidacy. According to him, Filippova “over the last five years changed more than five jobs, with a frequency of from one and a half years to one month. In the last year and a half made about 40 administrative offences”.
The Ministry said: “We received the letter and had submitted the candidacy of Philippi. However, to appoint as head of the SNP had not planned”.
Reporters found that Filippov is the daughter of elder sister of Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin.
Nicholas Penkovsky, who held the position of chief Park since 2002, was dismissed. The Ministry of natural resources reported that this was due to the violations revealed during the audit of the accounts chamber. On 1 August it became known that the Director appointed Filippova Park. It is formally listed the acting head of the SNP, as Penkovsky challenged his dismissal in court, claiming that at the time was on sick leave, and was reinstated.
