Trump: the law on sanctions may have negative consequences for US friends
WASHINGTON, 2 Jun — RIA Novosti, Alexei Bogdanovsky. The President of the United States Donald trump believes that he signed the bill on sanctions against Russia, Iran and North Korea could adversely affect American businesses, friends and allies of the United States.
“My administration anticipates that Congress will not use this unfortunate law.. to interfere with our efforts to combat any undesirable effects of the law for American business, for our friends and allies,” — said in a release sent to RIA Novosti news Agency the statement of the trump.
Earlier Wednesday, a White house spokesman confirmed to RIA Novosti that U.S. President Donald trump has signed the law on sanctions. The U.S. Senate in late July adopted the law on sanctions against Russia, Iran and North Korea.
Earlier, the house of representatives of the U.S. Congress adopted the document by an overwhelming majority (419-3), in the Senate the vote was identical, with 98 votes for and 2 against.
Thus, Congress had more than enough votes to override a possible presidential veto trump, and the President was largely forced to sign the bill.
