Putin has congratulated Russian paratroopers with airborne forces day

The President of Russia Vladimir Putin has congratulated staff and veterans VDV with Day Air-landing armies. On Wednesday, August 2, according to the Kremlin website.

“Today we honor the brave, strong spirit of people — those who in his heart has chosen for himself a difficult, but responsible and honorable service in the Navy. Who above all values the military laws of the fraternity and together with his comrades at any moment ready a breast to rise on protection of Fatherland”, — is spoken in the message.

The President also thanked the veterans of the airborne forces for a special contribution to the history of airborne troops and the creation of a tradition that “keeps” the current generation of soldiers and officers.

Navy day is celebrated on 2 August. On this day in 1930 on the teachings of the Voronezh made the jump from a unit of paratroopers of 12 people. Since then, the soldiers of the new armed forces took part in all armed conflicts of the USSR and Russia.
