Moscow may respond asymmetrically to Warsaw on the law on the demolition of monuments to Soviet soldiers. About it the newspaper “Izvestia” reported in the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Russia.

“The Polish authorities must be aware that their hostile actions in the memorial area will not remain without consequences, – quotes the edition of the text of the review of the Department of information and press of the Russian foreign Ministry. In respect of the Polish side will take adequate retaliatory measures, which may be asymmetric in nature.”

The foreign Ministry also told reporters that the dismantling of Soviet monuments invariably “dealt with in the course of contacts with the poles, our foreign partners, on international platforms, including the OSCE, the COE and the CSTO.”

Earlier, the Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on international Affairs Konstantin Kosachev said that Russia may withdraw from their responsibilities for the preservation of existing memorials of Polish and creating a new one if Warsaw did not change its position regarding the demolition of Soviet monuments.

And it may affect not only the memorials of the last century, said the Senator. “One such memorial is a place of crash of an airliner with the Polish President,” said Kosachev.
