Extension of U.S. sanctions on the basis of the Magnitsky act — a continuation of the policy of forcing relations with Russia, it is the continuity of such a course the Obama administration is trying to impose on the newly-elected President Donald Trump, said RIA Novosti first Deputy head of the Duma Committee for international relations Dmitry Novikov (CPRF).
The U.S. Treasury on Monday on the basis of the Magnitsky act imposed sanctions against five Russian citizens, including the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Bastrykin. According to a press release of the Ministry, the list of sanctions also included Andrei Lugovoi, Dmitry Kovtun, Stanislav Gordievsky and Gennady Plaksin.
“Expanding the list of those who fall under US sanctions from among the citizens of Russia, is the continuation of politics by forcing the relations between the US and Russia. This policy, the Obama administration should have confident enough and is now seeking the remaining days to ensure the continuity of such policy, to put trump in such conditions, forced to take such decisions which would provide prolongation of this line beyond,” said Novikov.
He believes that made another application for intervention in the Affairs of other States, the right to impose their attitudes and values.
The United States in December 2012 adopted the “Magnitsky act” on sanctions against Russians, sacrament, according to the American authorities, to human rights violations. The Russian authorities, in turn, has repeatedly stated about the inadmissibility of politicization of the “Magnitsky case”.
