Fighters of the Kurdish militia (YPG) arrested in the North of Syria a few immigrants from the Nordic countries. They are suspected of involvement in the fighting on the side of the terrorist group “Islamic state” (IG, is prohibited in Russia). It is reported by Sveriges radio.
The number of captured militants was not specified, but it is known that among them there are citizens of Sweden.
According to the Swedish security police (SAPO), for the last six years to militants in Syria were joined by about 300 people from the Kingdom. Their fate is not known.
On 18 July it was reported that during a sweep of Mosul from the last of the militants Iraqi forces detained 20 of the jihadists. According to the German publication Die Welt, among them was a teenage girl who came to Iraq from Germany, as well as immigrants from Russia, Libya, Turkey, Syria and Canada.
