The white house is considering responses to the reduction of the diplomatic mission in Moscow
WASHINGTON, 31 Jul — RIA Novosti. The US administration is studying possible responses to the decision of the Russian authorities to reduce the number of employees of American diplomatic missions in Russia, said White house spokesman Sarah Sanders.
“Currently, we are exploring our options (actions) and when we will have something to say, we’ll let you know,” said Sanders at a press briefing.
Earlier the President of Russia Vladimir Putin said that the staff of the diplomatic missions of the USA in Russia will be the same as the staff of Russian diplomatic missions in America by 455 people on each side. According to him, more than a thousand diplomats and technical staff — worked and still work in Russia, 755 will have to cease operations. The Russian foreign Ministry urged the US until September 1 to bring the number of diplomats and diplomatic missions in mechanics of the Russian Federation in accordance with the number of employees of the Russian diplomatic missions in the United States.
In addition, Russia from August 1 to suspend the use of the U.S. Embassy in Russia warehouse space on a Traffic street in Moscow and the Embassy dacha in Serebryany Bor. Relevant notes were presented to the head of the us diplomatic mission, John Tefft, who in turn, said it “deeply regrets” undertaken by Moscow’s measures.
