Memory failed: in India, the pilots of one and a half hours flying, not removing the chassis

MOSCOW, 28 Aug — RIA Novosti. The pilots of the aircraft of the airline Air India forgot to gear up in flight, causing the aircraft with 99 passengers on Board had to abort the flight, writes The Telegraph.

The incident occurred with the aircraft Airbus A320, carrying out flight from Kolkata to Mumbai on July 22, said the newspaper.

After takeoff the car with great difficulty managed to climb 7 kilometres despite the fact that such flights are usually at an altitude of over 10 kilometers. The speed of the aircraft did not exceed 450 kilometres per hour, while the cruising speed of the liner is almost two times more.

After a half hour of the flight crew requested permission to land at Nagpur, as the remaining fuel would be enough to get to Mumbai. Before landing the pilot was going to release the chassis, but found that it did not remove it after takeoff from Kolkata airport. Because of this, the liner could not gain the necessary altitude and speed.

Both pilots were women, notes The Telegraph. The airline was banned from flying at the time of the investigation.
