AP reported on the readiness of the U.S. and Russia announce a cease-fire in southern Syria

The US and Russia reached an agreement on ceasefire in the South-West of Syria. On Friday, July 7, reports Associated Press referring to the representative of the American authorities.

According to the Agency, the agreement shall enter into force on 9 July at noon Syrian time (coincides with Moscow). It is reported that the theme of the cease-fire were raised at the meeting of the presidents of the United States and Russia on the sidelines of the summit of G20 leaders in Hamburg.

May 4, countries-guarantors of a ceasefire in Syria — Russia, Turkey and Iran signed a Memorandum on creation of four security zones in Syria. They will operate in the following regions: in the province of Idlib, in areas of Latakia, Aleppo and Hama; in the North of HOMS province; in Eastern ghouta, on the South of Syria — the provinces of Deraa and Quneitra. There will be prohibited the use of weapons, in addition, to deliver humanitarian aid.
