Poroshenko officially set NATO membership as a key objective
Moscow. July 6. INTERFAX.RU President Petro Poroshenko has signed the law “On amendments to some laws regarding the foreign policy course of Ukraine”, which restored the country’s course towards NATO membership.
According to the press service of the head of state, now Ukraine to intensify work on a whole range of reforms to achieve the standards of the Alliance.
“One of the priorities of national interests of Ukraine the document stipulates integration into the Euro-Atlantic space of security with the aim of acquiring membership in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization”, — is spoken in the message.

8 Jun 2017 year the Verkhovna Rada has defined the deepening of Ukraine’s cooperation with NATO with the aim of gaining membership in this organization as a basis of foreign policy.
The bill on amendments to some legislative acts concerning foreign policy of Ukraine was supported by 276 deputies. The law provides for amendments to the laws on foundations of domestic and foreign policy, which was adopted on 1 July 2010, and in the law on fundamentals of national security of Ukraine, adopted on 19 June 2003.
The Alliance took note of the relevant decision of the Ukrainian Parliament.
