The combat capabilities of the Armed forces of the Russian Federation by the end of 2016 increased by 14%, which ensured the maintenance of the country’s defense capability at a proper level.
The supply of military equipment and armament within the framework of the state defence order for 2016 increased by 5%, the equipment of parts of constant readiness of modern samples increased to 58.3 per cent. On 22 December the Minister of defence of the Russian Federation Sergey Shoigu reported to the Supreme Commander of the armed forces of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin on the outcome of the expanded Board of military Department. The head of state noted that “in recent years much has been done to improve the country’s defense, but, of course, much is not enough”.
