The State Duma proposed a name for QR codes

Deputy Leonov: the State Duma suggested replacing QR codes with “passports of an immunized person” Medical Sciences Sergei Leonov confirmed that the deputies are discussing the name for the document on epidemiological measures and suggest replacing QR codes with “passports of an immunized person.” His words are quoted by the radio station “Moscow speaking”.

According to him, citizens have a negative attitude to the name “Law on QR codes”, which caused a great resonance in society. The bill itself is not about QR codes, but about measures for sanitary and epidemiological well-being, Leonov explained.

“I would rather call it an immune passport, because it is given to those who have been vaccinated, they acquire immunity, this is a group of people who have been ill, they also have immunity, “the deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee emphasized.

It is planned that such passports of an immunized person will be issued not only to those who have been vaccinated against COVID-19, but also to those who have been ill or delivered a foreign vaccine, Leonov concluded.

Earlier, RBC, citing a source, said that the Russian authorities are discussing a new name for the document for citizens who have a medical treatment, have undergone COVID-19 and vaccinated, which will allow them to visit public places when administered restrictive measures due to the coronavirus pandemic.
