The 28-year-old Russian fighter posted a processed photo where he stands opposite Dillashaw in the Absolute Fighting Championship (UFC) octagon. Thus, Ian is aiming for a bout against the former organization's bantamweight champion.
Ian is the interim UFC bantamweight champion. On October 30, at the UFC in Abu Dhabi, he won a victory over Corey Sandhagen. Initially, he was supposed to share the octagon with Aljamain Sterling, the holder of the bantamweight belt. However, the American withdrew from the fight, citing health problems.
Ian lost his UFC belt in a fight with Sterling. The Russian struck a forbidden blow and lost the fight. Sterling became the first champion in UFC history to win a title this way.
35-year-old Dillashaw has twice won the UFC bantamweight belt.
