Deputy who showed Zelensky the middle finger explained

Rada deputy Geo Leros called an impulsive decision to show the middle finger to Zelensky President of the country Vladimir Zelensky, explained. He stated that doing this was an impulsive decision. RIA Novosti reports.

“It was definitely an impulsive decision at the time. But I believe that this should be considered in the context of the events that took place before: because when I was repeatedly turned off the microphone, they did not allow me to criticize Zelensky, the office of the president, Yermak (Andriy Yermak, head of the president's office – note. ” ru ““, – said Leros on the air of “Channel 5”.

The deputy recalled the case when he was attacked at the rostrum of parliament by the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada from the Servant of the People faction Nikolai Tishchenko, and did not incur any punishment for this. “But I would like to share a little: this was not shown as an institution of the President of Ukraine, it was addressed personally to Zelensky and Yermak as a separate citizen of Ukraine,” the parliamentarian added.

On November 4, Geo Leros from the rostrum of parliament said that he was not afraid to speak the truth, and called Volodymyr Zelenskyy “the main traitor in the country.” After that, the speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk turned off the microphone for Leros, and the deputy, showing Zelensky an obscene gesture, left the podium.

On November 11, the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) of Ukraine charged Leros with hooliganism. The department admitted that the purpose of the deputy's actions was “the desire to create his own media and political image, to increase his own media awareness, to attract the attention of the media, society and other politicians.” Leros himself believes that they want to punish him for his negative attitude towards Zelensky's policies.

On November 18, the Pechersk District Court of Kiev chose Leros as a measure of restraint in the form of a personal obligation. According to the newspaper, the obligations of the defendant are assigned for two months. The parliamentarian is obliged to surrender his passport and periodically show himself to the prosecutor. The MP announced his intention to appeal the verdict.
