X5 Group launched its own financial services under the X5 Bank brand. At the first stage of work, customers will have access to digital cards, which will combine the functions of loyalty cards of the Pyaterochka and Perekrestok retail chains with the possibilities of using banking services – payment, money transfer, and receiving a ruble refund for purchases. This was reported to “Lente.ru” in the press service of the X5 Group.
“The X5 strategy provides for a presence at every stage of the 'customer journey', so we launched X5 Bank and were the first to launch one of the most demanded banking products – a debit card that combines both loyalty points and banking functionality. Such a business will allow us to be even closer to customers and offer new opportunities that are convenient for the client, “- Igor Shekhterman, CEO of X5 Group, commented on the news.
Users of the mobile application of the Perekrestok retail chain already have access to the digital X5 Card in 10 cities of the country: St. Petersburg, Kazan, Yekaterinburg, Rostov-on-Don, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Chelyabinsk, Ufa, Perm and Voronezh. In the coming month, customers in the same cities, as well as Novosibirsk, Omsk and Krasnoyarsk will also have the opportunity to issue digital cards already through the Pyaterochka retail chain app.
It is easy to get a new card – in one of the networks you can upgrade your current loyalty card to a bank card. Right there in the application, the client of the retail chain can order a plastic card, which will be delivered to him by courier. In addition, in the near future, in 30 Pyaterochka stores in Moscow, specialized X5 Bank counters will appear, where a digital card can be issued in person.
The X5 Bank project is being implemented by a separate company, the founders of which included X5 Group and Alfa-Bank. Issuance and maintenance of X5 Cards will be free of charge for all clients. And for purchases, cashback will be accrued in the amount of 2 percent of the purchase amount.
You can top up the account of X5 Card itself in the applications of retail chains and through the mobile application of Alfa-Bank without commissions, as well as through ATMs of any Russian bank and the Fast Payment System (FPS).
