The Foreign Ministry commented on the US resolution on the non-recognition of Putin as the President of Russia

Zakharova called the resolution of the US congressmen on the non-recognition of the elections in Russia as interference , which proposes not to recognize Russian President Vladimir Putin as the head of state if he decides to run for this position in 2024. She announced this on the air of the TV channel “Russia 24”, RIA Novosti reports.

Zakharova emphasized that this is not just interference in the affairs of another state, but “such an autumn intervention.” According to her, she hoped that Washington would hold out at least until spring, but for some reason the United States broke down in November. “Maybe the autumn is warm, I don’t know,” the diplomat noted.

In addition, Zakharova said that the representatives of the United States are separated from the real world, and every year this is more and more noticeable. She recommended that Americans take up the internal problems of their country, as well as the issue of freedom of speech. At the same time, the diplomat added that it would be necessary to carefully deal with the proposal of American parliamentarians not to recognize Putin as the head of state. “Because, it seems to me, they really played too much,” she summed up.

Earlier, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the draft resolution of the American senators does not fit into the framework of modern international relations. According to Peskov, this initiative of American parliamentarians demonstrates to the whole world that the United States is officially interfering in the internal affairs of other states. At the same time, in Moscow, such resolutions are considered unacceptable by Washington.

On November 19, it became known that US Congressmen Cohen and Wilson submitted to the House of Representatives a resolution not to recognize the presidential elections in Russia in 2024 if Putin will take part. At the same time, it was noted that if this document is adopted, it will be of a recommendatory nature.
