“Interfax”: the court recognized the decision to include Roman Badanin in the register of foreign agents

Zamoskvoretsky court of Moscow recognized the decision of the Ministry of Justice of Russia the former editor-in-chief of the Proekt newspaper ( the organization's activities were recognized as undesirable on the territory of the Russian Federation ) Roman Badanin ( included by the Ministry of Justice in the register of media performing the functions of a foreign agent ) in the list of foreign agents. According to the agency, the Moscow court refused to remove the status of a foreign agent from the former editor-in-chief of the “Project”. “Badanin’s claim was denied,” the official statement says.

It is noted that the journalist asked to declare his inclusion in the register of foreign agents unreasonable, but the court did not find any grounds for this.

On October 28, it became known that Roskomnadzor had blocked the website of the Project. The agency's website specified that access to the site began to be restricted from October 26 by the decision of the Prosecutor General's Office.

On July 29, it was reported that the former editor-in-chief of the “Project” Roman Badanin and his deputy Mikhail Rubin left Russia. According to Reuters, the journalists left the country for fear of possible persecution.

On July 15, the Project was declared undesirable in Russia. The Prosecutor General's Office considered that the publication's activities “pose a threat to the foundations of the constitutional order and security of the Russian Federation.”
