Deputy Representative of Russia to the UN Kuzmin: life has confirmed the correctness of the Crimeans in 2014

Deputy Representative of Russia to the United Nations (UN) During his speech at a meeting of the Third Committee of the UN General Assembly, he said that life has confirmed the correctness of the Crimeans who voted in 2014 in a referendum on the annexation of the peninsula to Russia. RIA Novosti reports.

Kuzmin drew attention to the fact that “unlike today's Ukraine, in Crimea, residential areas are not fired from guns, people are not burned alive, journalists are not killed, Nazi marches are not carried out, and they are not prohibited from speaking their native language.”

< p>At the same time, the diplomat pointed to what is happening in Donbass, where, according to the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission, over the past two weeks the number of ceasefire violations increased by one and a half times and amounted to about 6,700. objects of civil infrastructure, Kuzmin emphasized.

“Death, destruction, humiliation – this is what was prepared for the residents of the Crimea as part of Ukraine,” – said the deputy ambassador of Russia. He also noted that the aggressive behavior of Kiev is growing, “Western sponsors are constantly pumping it with weapons.”

Earlier, the American observer Anatol Lieven revealed the only condition for the transfer of Crimea to Ukraine. According to him, this can only happen in the event of a crushing military defeat for Moscow. At the same time, he stressed that the Russian armed forces have a huge superiority over the Ukrainian ones, therefore, if Russia wins in the limited war in Ukraine, Moscow will be able to seize a significant part of Ukrainian territories.

Crimea became part of Russia in March 2014 according to a referendum in which the majority of the region's residents supported such a decision. Ukraine, the countries of the European Union and the United States decided not to recognize the results of the vote.
