German Cabinet: Merkel discussed the migration crisis with Polish Prime Minister Moravetsky

Acting German Chancellor Angela Merkest discussed with Poland Mateusz Morawiecki the situation on the border of the Polish-Belarusian border. This was reported by the press service of the German Cabinet of Ministers on Twitter.

Merkel stressed that Germany is absolutely in solidarity with Poland on the issue of the migration crisis.

Earlier, Merkel also discussed the situation with refugees in a telephone conversation with President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. Minsk claims that the parties discussed the migration crisis and “came to a certain understanding of how to act and move on in resolving existing issues.”

The migration crisis on the border of Belarus and the European Union began at the end of May. Large groups of illegal migrants from Africa and the Middle East began to storm the borders of Lithuania, Poland and Latvia in the hope of obtaining asylum in the European Union.

The crisis escalated on November 16, when some refugees tried to break into Poland. In response, the Poles used special means, as a result of the incident, soldiers, migrants and journalists were injured. Then Lukashenko gave instructions to place illegal immigrants in the logistics center.
