White House declined to comment on reports of boycotting Beijing Olympics

A White House spokesman did not comment on reports of a boycott of the 2022 Olympics to be held in Beijing in 2022. This was reported by RIA Novosti.

A spokesman for the US President's press service, Andrew Bates, said that he had nothing to add on this topic. He also stressed that this problem was not raised during the conversation between American leader Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping, which took place on November 15.

Earlier, The Washington Post reported that the US presidential administration intends to declare a diplomatic boycott Winter Olympics. According to the newspaper, the technical solution has not yet been finalized, but the American leader was given appropriate recommendations. Administration sources said he would receive them by the end of the month. In the event of a boycott, the President and other Washington officials will not attend the Olympic Games in the Chinese capital.
