On September 27, Turkish President Recep Erdogan said that Ankara intends to buy another batch of S-400 from Russia. The politician pointed out that Turkey, as a sovereign country, is the only one that can make decisions on the purchase of weapons from other states. “In the future, no one will be able to interfere in our decisions about which protection systems to acquire, from which country and at what level,” he concluded.
Negotiations on the purchase of Russian air defense systems, which caused a crisis in relations between Turkey and USA began in mid-July 2019.
