A man suspected of murdering and dismembering his father was detained in St. Petersburg

In St. Petersburg, a man suspected of murdering and dismembering was detained, whose remains were found during work to strengthen the embankment of the Smolenka River. This is reported by TASS.

The suspect was the 35-year-old son of the deceased. It is specified that the body belongs to a 66-year-old resident of the Vasileostrovsky district, who lives in house number 1 on Smolenskaya Street. According to “Fontanka”, police officers and investigators studied the footage from street surveillance cameras. According to preliminary information, the video recorded how at three o'clock in the morning on November 14, a man was driving a cart on wheels from house No. 1, similar to the one to which the bag with the remains was tied.

According to the investigation, the son shot dead. father from a hunting rifle during a domestic conflict. After that, he dismembered the body and threw it into the river.

The 66-year-old pensioner was reported missing by his daughter. The man was last seen on November 14. On November 16, his body was found in a bag in the Smolenka River on Vasilievsky Island. On the fact of the incident, a criminal case was initiated under Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Murder”).
