Germany refused to give Ukraine a veto in the certification of “Nord Stream-2”

The regulator has confirmed the participation of Ukraine in the certification of Nord Stream 2 without the right of veto on the issue of certification of the Nord Stream-2 project, said the German Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur, BNetzA). The fact that Germany refused to give Ukraine such a right, writes TASS.

At the same time, the German regulator confirmed that the Ukrainian “Naftogaz” and “Operator GTS” are admitted to the Nord Stream certification.

Earlier it became known that Naftogaz will take part in the certification of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline. This decision was made by the German regulator, said the head of Naftogaz, Yuri Vitrenko. According to the head of the Ukrainian company, Naftogaz is ready to provide Germany with information about the impossibility of certification of the gas pipeline in the near future.

The German Energy Ministry has already issued an opinion on Nord Stream 2. The department came to the conclusion that the gas pipeline does not threaten the security of the EU's energy supply. Now the decision is to be made by the German Federal Grid Agency, which will analyze the compliance of Nord Stream 2 with EU legal norms.
