The lawyer complained about the conditions of Saakashvili's detention in the prison hospital

Lawyer Tutberidze: Psychological pressure is exerted on Saakashvili in the prison hospital treatment with him can be called inhuman. This statement was made by one of the lawyers of the ex-head of state Shota Tutberidze on the air of the Georgian TV channel “Palitranews”. His words are quoted by Interfax.

“The situation of Mikhail Saakashvili there is really not very good, there is a constant sense of danger, including a sense of physical danger, he is under constant psychological pressure,” Tutberidze said.

According to the lawyer, the conditions of Saakashvili's detention in the prison hospital do not meet European standards, and the treatment of the ex-president can be regarded as inhuman. Tutberidze also said that in the first two days of being in the prison hospital, the former Georgian leader was constantly verbally attacked by prisoners.

Earlier, a video appeared on the network with former Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili in the prison hospital, where he was transferred. In the footage, several people are carrying Saakashvili by the arms and legs. Their faces are not visible. Further in the chamber, the ex-president quarrels with employees and throws medical equipment on the floor.

Saakashvili was detained on October 1. He returned to Georgia after eight years of emigration to take part in the protests. At home, he was sentenced in absentia to six years in prison for the murder of a banker and the beating of a deputy. It is also being held by the accused in the case of the 2007 rally dispersal.
