Rust filmmaker sues Baldwin

Rust's light operator has filed a lawsuit against the filmmakers, including Alec Baldwin

The Rust's light operator Alec Baldwin shot cameraman Galina Hutchins, sued the creators of the western. This was reported by The New York Times.

A member of the film crew demands that the defendants, including Baldwin himself, pay compensation and fines. According to the lawsuit, during the incident on the set, the plaintiff was about two meters from Baldwin and was struck by the loud sound of a shot, and also felt the remains of gunpowder and other substances on his face. It is noted that the light operator was a close friend of the deceased Galina Hutchins.

Earlier, Baldwin advocated new rules for the use of weapons on the set of films and TV series. The cinematographer stated that there should be a police officer on the set who will monitor security. Moreover, according to the artist, it does not matter whether the employees use fake or real weapons during the filming.

On October 22, it became known that during the shooting of one of the scenes of the Western “Rust” Baldwin fired a pistol that was supposed to be loaded with blank cartridges, but the cartridges turned out to be live. As a result, cameraman Galina Hutchins died and film director Joel Sousa was injured.
