Izvestia: victims in discontinued criminal cases will be able to demand payment of lawyers victims of defense lawyers' costs in court. This is reported by Izvestia.
As explained by a member of the commission, chairman of the board of the Russian Bar Association (AYR), Vladimir Gruzdev, at the moment the decision on compensation is taken by law enforcement agencies, and its amount is calculated on the basis of tariffs approved by the state … In particular, reimbursement of expenses for one ship day is 1,550 rubles. This is four times less than real spending, the expert emphasized. Victims can appeal against the appointed amount, but the court does not have the authority to appoint another, said Artur Airapetov, a member of the Moscow Chamber of Lawyers.
However, if the initiative becomes law, the court will have such powers, and the victims in criminal cases terminated by non-rehabilitating grounds, will have the right to insist on compensation in full for the costs of lawyers. According to Ayrapetov, such grounds include amnesty, the expired statute of limitations for prosecution, reconciliation of the parties, active repentance, or the death of a suspect. The lawyer clarified that such decisions are especially often made on petty theft, fights, beatings and libel.
Earlier it became known that the Ministry of Economic Development will recalculate the indicators of the well-being of Russians by March. The agency will have to ensure full coverage of information sources for calculating indicators of the well-being of Russians.
