The Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov in a telephone conversation with U.S. Secretary of state Rex Tillerson expressed regret over the escalation of tensions in bilateral relations. This is stated in the message published on the website of the Russian foreign Ministry.
“The Secretary of state called specifically in order to inform you that soon will be announced further restrictions on the activities of Russian diplomatic missions in the United States, and outlined their main content”, — the document says.
The Minister also added that Moscow will carefully study the Americans announced the new measures will be informed on the response.
Earlier on August 31 it became known that the USA has demanded from Russia to close the Consulate General in San Francisco. Also need to stop working two consular facility in Washington and new York. The decision must be executed before September 2.
