“Tver shooter” refused to testify in court

TVER, August 29 — RIA Novosti. Accused of killing nine gardeners “Tver shooter” Sergei Egorov refused to testify in court, claiming that he already gave them in the course of the investigation, the correspondent of RIA Novosti news from the courtroom.

The Tver regional court on Tuesday began hearing on the merits. According to the court, Egorov completely guilty.

“I would like to use article 51 of the Penal code and to refuse to testify,” said Egorov, explaining that any testimony he gave during the investigation.

The massacre took place in the dacha cooperative “50 years of October” in the village of Redkino, Konakovo area in early June. According to investigators, during a feast in the country quarrel broke out, 45-year-old Muscovite went back to the offenders with a hunting rifle and opened fire.

The bodies of three women and five men were found in the house, and later in the trunk of the car parked next to the car found a woman’s body. One girl managed to hide from the shooter and call the police. The suspect was arrested immediately after the crime. He was drunk and tried to escape. Examination found him sane.

At the request of the defendant the criminal case is heard by a panel of three Federal judges. The materials consist of 14 volumes.
