The head of the German Federal office for the protection of the Constitution (counterintelligence) Hans-Georg Oil said that the Russian intelligence services are highly active in Germany and can try to influence the outcome of the elections to the Bundestag. The official said in an interview with Die Welt.
According to Masena, Moscow is able to organize a disinformation campaign in connection with the upcoming parliamentary elections by using cyber-attacks.
“Counterintelligence virtually impossible to legally prove that Russia is behind these hacking attacks. The likelihood of this scenario is high,” said Oil.
He also added that the activity of Russian intelligence in Germany is very intense.
