On the Hollywood walk of fame discovered a star of Charles Aznavour
NEW YORK, August 25. /TASS/. The French chanson star Charles Aznavour appeared Thursday on the Hollywood walk of fame in Los Angeles (California). Broadcast of the opening ceremony of the memorial sign has led the Hollywood chamber of Commerce.
“I would like to say something important. I am French and Armenian. To separate one from the other is as impossible as to separate milk and coffee, mixed in one vessel,” — said in English 93-year-old Aznavour. He described as “a fantastic opportunity to use the advantages of two cultures, if you want to do something useful.”
“I use French at work, however, the language my family always was and will remain Armenian language,” he continued, to the applause of the guests and residents of Los Angeles, home to one of the largest in the Armenian Diaspora. “Two days spent here, I got a little Californian. After living here my daughter and grandchildren,” said singer.

Aznavour was born may 22, 1924 to a family of Armenian immigrants in Paris. For the first time the singer visited Moscow in 1963. His recordings sold in the world with a total circulation of 180 million copies. He wrote lyrics for more than 1,300 songs. CNN and Time magazine recognized him, according to the results of a poll conducted in 1998, “the most important artist in the history of the variety of the twentieth century”.
