Landscape fires have destroyed in the Volgograd region more than 150 buildings on the territory of which entered emergency mode. On Wednesday, August 23, RIA Novosti reported with reference to head of EMERCOM in the region Oleg Grebenyuk.
He pointed out that throughout almost the entire region due to strong winds occurred on a landscape of fire. “The most difficult situation in the six municipalities, including in Volgograd. Destroyed 151 structure. The area of the fire damaged by fire, specified”, — he said.
He noted that in a children’s camp was held the evacuation of the 368 children and 27 adults, they were placed in school and plan to send early home. Evacuated residents of the two villages, after the elimination of the threat of fires returned to their homes.
Grebenyuk stated that the situation in the region stable by increasing the grouping of forces and means to extinguish fires, and fire distribution managed to prevent. “Common grouping for extinguishing fires more than 5 thousand people”, — he said.
Earlier Wednesday, at a meeting the operational headquarters for the prevention and elimination of emergencies and fire safety Volgograd region made a decision on the introduction in the region from 17:00 on 23 August a state of emergency because of the difficult fire situation.
