Vladimir Zhirinovsky has decided to run for the presidential elections in Russia in 2018. This was the liberal Democrat told the radio station “Moscow speaking” on Monday, August 21.

“To participate will be sure, Yes,” he said. According to Zhirinovsky, if the current head of state Vladimir Putin will not take part in the campaign, the victory of the liberal democratic party will be provided.

However, he added that the fall of the liberal Democrats plan to introduce in the state Duma the draft amendments to the Constitution, limiting the presidential term to five years without the possibility of reelection for a second term.

The Russian presidential election will be held in 2018. By law, the elected President will hold office for six years.
