Moscow. August 22. INTERFAX.RU — Investigators have arrested the Director Kirill Serebrennikov on suspicion of theft of 68 million rubles, said the official representative of SKR Svetlana Petrenko.
“The head Department on investigation of especially important cases of the TFR on suspicion of theft of at least 68 million rubles allocated in 2011-2014 for the project “Platform”, detained the artistic Director of the theater “Gogol-center” Kirill Serebrennikov,” he said on Tuesday “Interfax”.
She added that the consequence qualifies its actions under part 4 of article 159 (fraud in especially large size). Soon the Director will be charged and will be solved a question on election of a preventive measure.
August 1, a source close to the Director has informed “Interfax” that the Investigative Committee in the case of Studio seven has appointed examination of the passport of artistic Director of “Gogol center” Kirill Serebrennikov, with the result that he cannot travel abroad.
“As we know, the investigation examines the foreign passport Serebrennikov, who was seized from him during a search in late may of this year”, — said the Agency interlocutor. According to him, “we can talk about technical and forensic examination, the purpose of which is to establish the authenticity of the document”.
Meanwhile, according to the source, “these investigations are the only reason to not release a film Director abroad.” Pieces of silver is actively cooperating with foreign theatres. According to the investigation, from 2011 to 2014, the leadership of the “Seventh Studio” stole tens of millions of rubles of budgetary funds allocated for the development and promotion of art.
One of the projects, according to the Investigative Committee, was allegedly not staged the play “a Midsummer night’s Dream”. The amount of damage, according to the investigation, this episode is more than 2.3 million rubles. Protection of defendants has repeatedly stated that the play was staged.
Currently, the case three defendants: former accountant “Seventh Studio” Nina Masliaev, ex-CEO of the Studio Yuri Itin and former General producer of the company, ex-Director of the “Gogol-center” Alexei Malopolski. The founder of the “Seventh Studio” pieces of silver is in the status of witness.
