The investigative Committee denied the information that appeared in some media about the arrest of a suspect in the case about the fight in Khabarovsk, after which he died a champion in powerlifting Andrey Drachev, according to the SUCK of the Russian Federation for the region on Monday.
According to police, at 7 a.m. on Sunday (00.00 GMT) near the cafe “Gallery” in the center of Khabarovsk there was a fight between the two men, resting in a cafe. As a result of the conflict one of the participants of the fight 31-year-old world and European champion Andrey Drachev got hit, fell down and lost consciousness. He was taken to hospital where he died. According to preliminary data, the cause of death was traumatic brain injury. The second participant of fight — 25-year — old man from the scene disappeared.
