Russia repaid the last external debt of the USSR
MOSCOW, 21 Aug — RIA Novosti. Russian Federation 8 Aug repaid the external debt of Bosnia and Herzegovina, was resolved by the commitment of the USSR to the foreign state creditor, according to the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation.
The report notes that the debt to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the amount of 125.2 million US dollars regulated by the agreement between the government of the Russian Federation and the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the settlement of the obligations of the former USSR according to the calculations related to the turnover between the former USSR and the former SFRY, signed in Moscow on 21 March 2017 and entered into force on 20 July 2017.
“The Ministry of Finance reports on the completion of repayment of the Russian Federation for the obligations of the former USSR to Bosnia and Herzegovina”, — stated in the message.
Bosnia and Herzegovina has become the latest foreign government creditor of the former USSR or the Russian Federation, the obligation before which remained unresolved.
The report notes that part of the state external debt of the Russian Federation to official bilateral creditors currently remains the only outstanding debt to the Republic of Korea in the amount of 594,3 million dollars.
“In accordance with bilateral intergovernmental agreement specified the remaining balance of the liability is repayable in the period until the end of 2025”, — said the Ministry.
