Four injured in attack in Surgut are in serious condition, one in extremely grave. TASS on Sunday, August 20, reported in Department of public relations of the Governor of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous district.
“The condition of two more is estimated as moderate severity, one person yesterday [Saturday] released home”, — said there.
On the morning of Saturday, August 19, armed with a knife man attacked passers-by in the city centre. The culprit was a local resident born in 1994, presumably a native of Central Asia.
Seven of the injured were taken to the Surgut trauma hospital, children among them.
Banned terrorist group “Islamic state” has claimed responsibility for the incident. The police considers the incident as a terrorist attack.
On Saturday in Surgut there arrived the Governor of Ugra Natalia Komarova. She said about a stable situation in the city.
