In Ukraine opened case on the publication of the decision on “billions” of Yanukovych
The Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for human rights Valeria Lutkovska has initiated the opening of the case due to the delay of publication of the court decision Kramatorsk city court on the confiscation of $1.5 billion that belonged to the entourage of ex-President Viktor Yanukovych. This is stated in a message posted on Facebook by non-governmental international organization for the fight against corruption Transparency International Ukraine.
It States that a month ago, the organization turned to Lutkovska with a request to punish guilty of violation of the right to public access to information on confiscated assets of the Yanukovych regime.
According to the organization, the sentence of confiscation is still not deposited in the court registry.
In Transparency International noted that the opening of the case, will accelerate the work of state bodies and put an end to the violations associated with access to this data.
At the end of April this year, the Secretary of the Council of national security and defense of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov said that the management of the Bank has started to transfer into the state budget $1.5 billion from the accounts of Yanukovych. Later, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that the money ex-President will go on the “restoration of the combat capability of the Ukrainian army”. The money was stolen from the people of Ukraine. Now we have returned them to the state Treasury,” — said Poroshenko on his page on Twitter.
The lawyer of former Ukrainian leader Vitaly Serdyuk has declared that Yanukovych has no relation to confiscated from the accounts of savings Bank funds.
“I completely deny this… On hand I have statements of Viktor Yanukovych with the savings Bank, there are completely different amount. We are talking about 28 million UAH, which is arrested and not be seized now,” said the lawyer. According to him, the 28 million UAH — this is a personal savings of Yanukovych, which was paid all taxes. According to human rights activist, he intends to refute the information about the confiscation of “allegedly previously arrested a non-existent $1.5 billion” in court.
