Golodets said about record-high life expectancy in Russia

The average life expectancy of Russians at the end of the first half of 2017 exceeded 72 years, said Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets. Her words leads TASS.

Golodets noted that this is the first time, and named the exact figure from the preliminary estimates of Rosstat: 72.4 years. It’s six months more than in 2016.

The Deputy Prime Minister said the main factor for the growth of life expectancy, your system efforts to reduce mortality. So, according to her, in the first half of 2017, mortality declined to 12.9 per 1,000 people compared with 13.2 in the previous year.

“The health and demographic development is an absolute priority for the government. This issue will remain in the spotlight in the future,” — said Golodets.

Previously, the average life expectancy of 72 years, said Russian President Vladimir Putin during a straight line. In March, it was reported that by 2025, this figure could be increased to 76 years.

One of the main demographic problems of the country remains male mortality. According to experts, the Russian men are constantly trying “poorly” and contemptuous of their health. So, women in Russia on average live to 77 years and men to 67.
