MOSCOW, August 10. /TASS/. The Tver court of Moscow on Thursday was found guilty of organizing an extremist organization to the investigative Committee Alexander Sokolov and sentenced him to 3.5 years in a penal colony, the correspondent of TASS from the courtroom.

The defendants are also former editor of the newspaper “Duel” Yury Mukhin, who received four years conditionally with a trial period of four years, and activists Sergei Barabash and Valery Parfyonov who was sentenced to four years in prison each. All are charged with part 1 of article 282.2 of the criminal code (“Organization of activities of the organization in respect of which the court accepted entered into legal force decision on liquidation in connection with the implementation of extremist activity”).
The court also decided to read them in the term of sentence time spent in custody.
In the debate of the parties state charge asked to appoint to Sokolov punishment in the form of four years of General regime colony, widow — 4.5 years in a General regime colony, Parfenov and Barabashu — four years of imprisonment each. The court found, the defendants participated in the activities prohibited on the territory of the Russian Federation “the Army will of the people”, recognized by the court in 2010, extremist community, which they then renamed the initiative group for the referendum “For the responsible authority”. The defendants deny the accusations.
