Moscow. 7 Aug. INTERFAX.RU — Prosecutors in South Korea have demanded to sentence to 12 years in prison, Deputy Chairman of the Board and the actual head of Samsung Group Lee Jae-Yong, if his guilt in the corruption case is proved, informs on Monday Agency Associated Press.
According to him, the Prosecutor’s office has taken this position after four months of hearings on the case of 49-year-old Lee Jae Yong. It is expected that the verdict will be known in late August.
According to investigators, Choi sung-SIL, a friend of former President, Park Geun-Hye illegally forced big business to make a multimillion-dollar donation in two related non-governmental Fund. The largest of these donors was the Samsung group, which, according to the investigation, also gave Choi sung-SIL of about 43.3 billion won ($38 million).
In turn, Lee Jae-Yong denies accusations of corruption.
