Off the coast of Kamchatka earthquake
PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY, Aug 3 — RIA Novosti. An earthquake of magnitude 5.5 occurred off the coast of Kamchatka, the inhabitants of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatka felt tremors up to two points, told RIA Novosti the Kamchatka branch of Geophysical service RAS.
“Seismic event of magnitude 5.5 occurred in the Pacific ocean opposite Cape shipunskiy. According to preliminary data, the epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 64 kilometers 95 kilometers from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky,” — said the representative of the service.
He added that in some districts of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky tremors were felt by force to two points.
According to the regional Central Board MOE, in the earthquake of victims and destructions, the threat of a tsunami has not been announced.
