Four candidates will compete for the post of the head of the Mari El Republic in the elections in September, told RIA Novosti on Tuesday the press service of the Republican Central election Commission.
“The CEC of Mari El today registered Alberta Fedorova, Natalia Glushchenko and Valentina Zlobina candidates for the post of head of the Republic. During the meeting, they handed certificates to the registered candidates. Earlier, election Commission registered candidate Alexander Evstifeeva. Thus, for the post of head of the Republic will compete four candidates,” — said the Agency interlocutor.
Initially, participation in the elections of the regional head of the CEC of Mari El has notified six people: the acting head of Mari El Alexander Evstifeev (United Russia), coordinator of regional branch of LDPR albert Fedorov, Chairman of the Board of the regional branch of party “Fair Russia” Natalia Glushchenko, the head of the regional branch of the Russian party of pensioners for social justice Valentina Zlobina, chief inspector of the branch of OAO “rosseti” — the Center of technical supervision Nikolay Semenov (Russian ecological party “Green”), Chairman of the Mari branch of “Civil platform” Andrey Smyshlyaev.
Documents for registration as candidates on a post of the head of the region presented Evstifeev, Fedorov, Glushchenko and Zlobin.
The Republican Central election Commission on Tuesday adopted a decision to refuse Semenov and Smyshlyaeva in registration “in connection with the fact that they had not submitted the necessary documents,” said the representative of the Commission.
In addition, the press service reported that to date, the CEC has received two complaints on the placement of campaign materials in not taken away places.
The President of Russia Vladimir Putin on April 6 dismissed the head of Mari El Leonid Markelov, who had earlier resigned voluntarily. Later against the former head of the Republic was prosecuted, he is accused of receiving a bribe of 235 million rubles. The acting head of the Republic was appointed Evstifeev.
