Ukraine prepares lawsuit against Russia because of the construction of a bridge to Crimea

MOSCOW, 2 Jun — RIA Novosti. The Ukrainian authorities consider the losses in the commercial ports and are preparing a lawsuit to Russia from-for restrictions on navigation in the Kerch Strait in connection with the construction of the bridge, said the Deputy Minister of infrastructure of Ukraine Yuriy Lavrenyuk on Tuesday.

Earlier, the Minister of transport of Russia Maxim Sokolov said that the naval operation to transport and install the overall construction of the bridge across the Kerch Strait — arches — will take place with minimal restriction of traffic, one-time suspension of movement on the fairway will not exceed three days. He also said that immediately after completion of the manufacturing operations, the channel will immediately be opened for the passage of vessels.

“The Ministry of justice within existing legal actions against Russia separates the problem of overlapping of the Kerch channel and the introduction of restrictions on the circulation of the vessels. Now preparing a lawsuit and damages are considered uncollected funds Mariupol and Berdyansk ports of trade”, — quotes Lavrenyuk, the press service of the Ministry.

The bridge across the Kerch Strait that will link Crimea and Krasnodar Krai, will be the longest in Russia — its length is 19 kilometers. The beginning of the movement of vehicles on the bridge is scheduled for December 2018.
