The court decided to deport from Russia correspondent of “Novaya Gazeta”

Basmanny court of Moscow has accepted the decision to expel the correspondent of “Novaya Gazeta” citizen of Uzbekistan Hudaberdi Nurmatov, writing under the pseudonym Feruz Ali. On Wednesday, August 2, reports TASS.

Judge Arthur Karpov found him guilty under article “Violation by a foreign citizen or person without citizenship of rules of entrance to the Russian Federation or the regime of stay (residence)”, and, in addition to the expulsion, appointed an administrative fine of five thousand rubles. Prior to the entry of judgment Nurmatov will appear in the Center of temporary detention of foreign nationals GU MVD in Moscow.

Nurmatov was detained on Tuesday, August 1, near the office. Police stopped him for checking documents, but when a journalist was only a press card. Nurmatov delivered in OVD “Basmannoe” for identification.

In the spring of 2017, the journalist was also detained because of a violation of the rules of entry or stay, drew up an administrative report, but he did not appear in court. Subsequently Nurmatov has requested temporary asylum in Russia, but in early June 2017 he was refused, the authorities also blocked his exit in an unnamed European country, where it was ready to accept as a refugee.
