The joint mission of great Britain and Norway will perform an observation flight over the territory of the Russian Federation on the Swedish observation aircraft SAAB-340 in the period from 31 July to 4 August, said acting chief of the Russian national Center for nuclear threat reduction Ruslan Shishin.
The flight will be made in the framework of the international Treaty on open skies from the airfield the open sky of Kubinka (Moscow oblast), reported Shishin.
During the flight on an agreed route Russian specialists on Board the surveillance plane will monitor strict observance of the agreed parameters of the flight and the order of application of the Treaty sensors.
Observation aircraft SAAB-340 belongs to the class of aircraft, not intended to use any weapons. The plane and installed on the observation equipment (aerial cameras) have passed international certification, which was attended by Russian experts, which excludes the use of technical means, not covered by the Contract.
